Message from Rosie, Thursday, July 26, 2001 Well here we are, 8 months old and we are still changing nappies, still feeding mouths and still taking much delight in our baby girls. They are rolling around and very near to crawling. They lift their backs up and wobble on all fours. They are also well into solid food consuming large amounts of particularly sweet tasting things like banana and apple. They are still very good natured but their recent bout of teething has been challenging for us. Lot's of screaming and us as parents not knowing how to comfort these yells. Now all three of them have two little teeth so I suppose it is all worth while. They are stunning little girls and continue to amaze people where ever we go. The constant attention is mostly well received on our part although some frequently asked questions do become a bit tiresome. eg " Are they identical? " or "Was it fertility treatment?" As parents we still find the sleepless nights one of the hardest things. Although we did have 2 months of them sleeping through from 10pm until 7am. This enabled us to catch up a little bit and regain a little normality to our existence. I really believe that with a solid night's sleep anything is possible. But caring for these three girls has in many ways got easier (As I type Tess is crying and I am reminded how difficult it is to get anything done and momentarily question this statement) and the summer coming has been wonderful. We have even got to a couple of festivals. Andy is a fantastic father and his patience and commitment continue to amaze me. The support from family and friends has also been terrific and I often marvel at how well loved our girls are. There has certainly been no chance of being isolated with our frequent flow of visitors. The last few months certainly have been a daze for us both. It is just such a constant job to look after and care for three babies but one that we cherish most of the time. All in all we know we are very lucky to have Tess, Jade and Star come into our lives. Rosie, Thursday, 26th July |
